My role in this project was to analyze and complement open data sanctioned by the United Nations with trending search data for the topic generated around the world. The overarching purpose of this was to develop an engaging, mobile-first, narrative that would dispel misconceptions and biases on the topic.

Through this context, I engineered data visualizations and helped contour the narrative by researching and surfacing insights from the data. In the process I performed geospatial analysis and created timelapses from satellite imagery, performed topical clustering of popular search terms, and queried the GDELT framework to monitor and identify correlations between surging topics and political events.
